Authentic Love: Beyond the Surface

When relationships falter, we often comfort ourselves with the phrase:

“We met at the right place, but at the wrong time.”

Love can be overwhelming—intense, magnetic, yet hindered by the different seasons of our lives. Sometimes, we find someone with whom we feel perfectly in sync, as if we were made for each other. We share dreams, understand unspoken words, and feel like two halves of a whole.

But if love were truly destined, wouldn’t we have met under perfect circumstances?

Or perhaps, love is not about perfect timing—but about seeing beyond the surface.

  • If you admire my success, do you love me—or just what I’ve accomplished?
  • If you’re drawn to my appearance, are you captivated by me—or by an image of me?
  • If you’re fascinated by my skills, do you appreciate my depth—or only what I can do?
  • If you value my family name, are you cherishing my soul—or the status attached to it?

Authentic love is not admiration.

It is the profound act of truly seeing, hearing, and understanding the person beyond achievements, beyond beauty, beyond labels.

Real love is embracing me in my entirety—the untamed thoughts, the quiet fears, the innocent joy of my inner child. It’s not about falling for an image; it’s about accepting the essence of who I am.

Because in the end, love is not about timing—it’s about truth.
